Peron at a glance
One line: Peron is a free iPhone app that follows every passenger train in Slovenia live and tells commuters when to leave, which platform to stand on and whether their change will work.
One paragraph: Peron puts every train in Slovenia on one live map and turns the national timetable and real-time data into plain answers: six minutes late, platform 3, leave home at 07:08. It predicts platforms the official timetable doesn't publish, plans replacement buses into the journey, checks whether a change will hold and keeps the trip on the Lock Screen while you ride. Every confirmed ride fills a rail passport with stamps. Peron is independent, made by XOD Group in Ljubljana, mostly on trains, and is now in closed beta.
Slogan: Leave on time. Even when your train doesn't.
Press release
Peron opens its beta: every train in Slovenia, live on your iPhone
A new independent app tells rail commuters when to leave, where to stand and whether their change will work, before the station board does.
Ljubljana, [date]. XOD Group today opens the closed beta of Peron, a free iPhone app for people who take the train in Slovenia. Peron follows every passenger train in the country as it runs and turns the delays into one practical answer: when to leave the house.
Commuters from Sežana, Kranj, Litija, Celje or Novo mesto plan their mornings to the minute, yet a delay often reaches them only on the platform. Peron refreshes every train every 30 seconds and shows it as a dot on a live map: green when it's on time, red when it isn't. A leave-now alert counts back from the train and the walk to the station, and moves when the train runs late.
Peron also answers questions the official timetable leaves open. It predicts platforms from where the same trains were seen before and labels them "Predicted" until they are certain. It plans replacement buses into the journey during closures, so a trip like "train to Logatec, then bus to Ljubljana" works the way it actually runs. For journeys with a change, it shows the minutes you'll have, the minutes you need and how often the change has worked.
On board, the trip moves to the Lock Screen and the Dynamic Island. A ride check on the phone confirms that the rider is on the train without sending their location anywhere. Every confirmed ride is stamped into a rail passport that counts stations, lines, kilometres and an estimate of the CO₂ saved by not driving.
Peron is independent and not connected to Slovenske železnice or any other railway company. It is built on Slovenia's public timetable and real-time data.
The beta is open to anyone with an iPhone. Sign up at peron-app.com to receive a TestFlight invitation when a place opens.

The story
Peron started on the morning train. Its makers ride between Sežana and Ljubljana and kept checking three sources to answer one question: is my train on time, and when do I need to leave? So they built the app they wanted, mostly on board, with the laptop on a fold-down table.
The name is the Slovenian word for platform: the place where every trip starts and where most of the waiting happens. The idea behind it is simple. When the train runs late, the waiting should happen at home, not on a cold platform.
Peron is a product of XOD Group, a media production and marketing studio from Ljubljana. The team sees it as a small contribution to a future with more people on the rails: the more predictable a train journey feels, the easier it is to leave the car at home.
Quotes
"We built Peron on the trains it tracks. Most of it was written between Sežana and Ljubljana, usually while waiting for a train that was a few minutes late." Dominik Uršič, co-founder of Peron
"The timetable tells you when a train should leave. Peron tells you when you should leave. That one minute of difference is the whole app." Marko Pleterski, co-founder of Peron
"We're careful about what we know and what we estimate. If a platform is a prediction, Peron says Predicted. If a position is an estimate, it says so. People trust an app that shows its working." Dominik Uršič
